About EXIF Extractor
EXIF Extractor is a free, independent tool for reading the metadata already embedded inside a photo — camera details, shooting settings, timestamps, and GPS coordinates when present — without ever uploading the file anywhere.
It was built for a simple reason: most "EXIF viewer" tools online quietly upload your photo to a server first. This one doesn't. Every byte of parsing happens with JavaScript running in your own browser tab, using the open-source exifr library.
What we stand for
Nothing leaves your device. The tool works fully offline once the page has loaded, aside from optionally rendering a map when GPS data is present.
No guessing. We only ever display data that is genuinely recorded in the file. We do not analyze photo content to infer a location or identity.
Free, always. No account, no paywall, no artificial limits on the number of photos you inspect.
Who this is for
Photographers checking their own shooting settings, journalists and researchers verifying an image's origin, and everyday users who want to confirm a photo doesn't contain a hidden GPS location before posting it publicly.
